The Tarboro Mayor and Council will get a preview of the town’s new website Monday night during its monthly meeting. Latham Jenkins, president of Circumerro Media of Jackson Hole, Wyo., was hired in April to redesign the website. His work will be reviewed by Council members and staff next week, recommended changes will be made and the site launched by the end of August, as planned.
“We are excited to present our work on Monday night to Town council and staff, ” Jenkins said. “The town’s residents have been so supportive through this process of building the site’s content and I am grateful. I believe the site represents the town for all the great qualities it offers and it will be a real marketing asset for the community. As a community marketer, I applaud the Council and staff for their forward thinking”.
Jenkins shot 10 hours of video that has been boiled down into four three-minute segments. Tarboro’s Dee Harper wrote the copy; Tarboro’s Bill Goode took some photos. “We think we have a good site that speaks to any newcomers considering moving to Tarboro,” Jenkins said. “We want to reach out to them.”
We are launching for our client, the Town of Tarboro, NC, a new web site this month featuring four new videos. Overview of Tarboro, Living in Tarboro, History of Tarboro and Doing Business in Tarboro. The videos are meant to take the more traditional static approach to Web publishing into one that is authentic, with Tarboro locals telling their story about their town.
The crew has been hard at work on an new positioning for the Bank of Jackson Hole. Over the coming months we will be launching a series of ads messaging local ownership, local decision making, reinvestment in the community, and a focus on personal relationships. The tagline “We answer to no one but you” was chosen after a concepting phase in which we pursued several tagline and ad campaign combinations. The client and team on the job, including designers, writers and photographers, has a great direction to work with, and is committed to telling the real Bank of Jackson Hole story for quite some time!
Here’s the first ad (featuring Bank client and local developer Dave NeVille) along with a behind the scenes look at the photoshoot with Flo McCall.

This enables the website to continue building on its search engine rankings and assures users can easily see the properties for sale.
“One of the compelling features of the site’s experience is the home page video integration, helping to personalize the message,” says Latham Jenkins, president of Circumerro.
“Even with the slow-down in the real estate market, we were able to deliver a quality online experience for Lowcountry Real Estate with a reduced budget,” says Jenkins.

What do whitewater rafting outfitters, coffee roasters, real-estate agents and restaurants all have in common?
They can all connect with customers through web-based short videos produced by Circumerro Video.
“We believe every business needs one, and every business can be successful creating a video,” said Circumerro founder and President Latham Jenkins.
Jenkins sees incredible potential for businesses that produce short-form videos because there is very little video content related to Jackson Hole on the web right now, calling it the “first mover advantage.”
Video is especially important for businesses in Jackson Hole because it is so hard to encapsulate the valley’s landscape and experience with traditional layouts of text and photos, especially for clients and customers who are coming from another state or country.
“We believe you can pre-live the experience, through video online, that a business would offer, further engaging that consumer to come see you or participate in what you have to offer,” Jenkins said. “Particularly in this valley, where out-of-town buyers are using the web to find services and real estate.”
According to studies, when people view a website, they naturally gravitate toward the video elements and often view them first, bypassing photos and text. By syndicating those videos to websites like YouTube, businesses create additional portals beyond their own website to draw in customers. Besides delivering an advertising message, creative videos can bring attention to businesses in unexpected ways. Jenkins points to his own company’s “Save the Elves” campaign, which received media coverage worldwide.
“You get all these spinoffs you never saw coming,” Jenkins said. “Not only has video been successful in selling homes and rooms, it has been successful in generating great public relations for companies.”
A service line of Circumerro Media, Circumerro Video can provide all the services a business needs to produce a short-form video—from planning dialogue and action to shooting and editing video, adding sound and syndicating the video to outlets throughout the web.
“We believe every business has a great story to tell,” Jenkins said. “We help you to tell that story through putting your two to three main talking points into the video.”

At a time when consumers are more aware than ever of the businesses they patronize, it is critical that those businesses effectively communicate their core identity and values.
Since 1995, Circumerro Media has been helping companies to find their identity and effectively communicate it to consumers in print and most importantly, on the Web.
“Our branding work allows us to help companies understand their position and create a unique voice,” Circumerro founder and President Latham Jenkins said. “Then we create engaging brand experiences through the principle of storytelling.”
Storytelling is a key for new businesses that are seeking to create a brand—an identity for their business. But storytelling can be equally important for existing businesses that might not be communicating well with their customers or may need to revamp the business and take it in a new direction.
“Some people have existing websites and they don’t work,” Jenkins said. “Generally they lack a differentiated message, they need to create their story, and we help with that.”
“Many business owners may have an idea of what their story is but still have problems communicating that story to consumers,” Jenkins said. “I can tell you a story and you will remember it, but as a business, if you throw in facts and figures and industry jargon, you as a consumer won’t remember that,” he said. “We simplify your message into story format that resonates with consumers and creates more connectivity between the business and the consumer.”
Once a business has identified and articulated its story, it needs to find a way to deliver it to the public. Circumerro can provide that conduit with web design and print publishing campaigns. With a highly qualified team of artists, editors and designers, Circumerro can help businesses bring stories to life for potential customers.
With its Circumerro Video and Circumerro Stock service lines, Circumerro Media can provide photo and video production services to take a business’ story beyond just words and create and attractive experience for potential customers.
“Building a website is just the nuts and bolts of it,” Jenkins said. “What you need to think about is the experience people will have using the website. You buy products for the experience they offer you—not the features.”
With a client base, including companies such as Eagle Creek and Cloudveil, that spans the country, Circumerro has a proven record of crafting compelling stories that appeal to customers.
“Our referral business has stayed strong through the success we have had with our clients,” Jenkins said. “People have built a business around things they believe in, and we want to take that online.”
Latham Jenkins is taking his assignment personally.
“I think Tarboro has a lot to offer,” Jenkins said. “I don’t want anyone to consider living here and not know its story.”
Jenkins, a Tarboro native, has the contract to redesign the Town of Tarboro’s Web site. The current site was developed about five years ago.
Jenkins has hired Tarboro’s Dee Harper to write copy and Bill Goode to take photographs. Jenkins is shooting video himself, and interviewing people around town.
“I’ve had great progress working with the community at large,” Jenkins said. “This is a project built for Tarboro by the people of Tarboro. I’m using the local talent to tell the story of Tarboro.”
Jenkins, 38, left town 15 years ago for a summer job out west and “really haven’t gotten back yet,” he said.
He founded Circumerro Media in Jackson Hole, Wyo., where he worked as a river guide during the summer while attending Appalachian State University in Boone. Circumerro has been successful and has offices in South Carolina, as well.
Town Councilman Steve Hoard recommended Circumerro because of the outstanding job Jenkins and his crew did for Kanban, the Tarboro logistic outfit Hoard helped found.
Circumerro specializes in web design, publishing, branding and working with real estate firms to help realtors tell the story of their communities.
The Town Council selected Circumerro at the April 14 meeting. Jenkins, the son of Councilman John Jenkins, has a contract not to exceed $44,800.
“This came at a perfect time for us,” said Latham Jenkins, “and it’s a great way to reconnect. In fact, it’s been challenging because I see so many people on the street, and I have to stop what I’m doing.”
The 15 hours of tape will be sent back to Jackson Hole for an early review while Jenkins takes some time off this week to visit the beach. He plans to return next week and continue filming.
“Video is essential,” he said. “The average attention span is about two and a half minutes. We’ve got to boil the message down.”
Jenkins plans to make a presentation to the Town Council at its Aug. 18 meeting.
“We will make adjustments based of their feedback,” he said. “The site should be up by the end of that month if not sooner.”
Hitting the streets now is the 2008 Pocket Guide to Jackson Hole from Circumerro Media. Featuring new maps for both the Jackson Hole valley and Town of Jackson, increased advertising participation as a result of our great success with our first edition, and an expanded distribution of 100,000 for 2008-09.
