The May ’09 issue of Fortune Small Business included an in-depth look at our client EpicQuest. The recent start-up creates luxury-infused trips that treat clients to exclusive destinations in the world of adventure travel.

But if snowboarding in the rugged peaks of the Tordrillo mountains in Alaska and surfing legendary breaks in remote regions of the Pacific aren’t exciting enough, clients can also opt to have world-class athletes like Tommy Moe, Laird Hamilton or Jeremey Jones—to name just a few—join them on their trip.

The FSB assignment sent writer Josh Dean along with a crew from EpicQuest, including Laird Hamilton, Dave Kalama and Jeremy Jones, to see first-hand what an EpicQuest experience is all about and investigate how the young firm plans to operate within the recent tight economic climates.

While the big boys have been out harvesting waves and powder, we’ve been toiling away building the EpicQuest website, which is slated to launch soon. We’ll be cashing in our payment soon, however, when we show up on Laird’s doorstep with the whole office in tow for surf camp.
